Can Drinking Water Cause Cancer?

January 16th, 2012 | Cancer |

This is one question I have to say that I am puzzled about. One side uses chlorine to protect us from water-borne diseases such as Typhoid caught and the other side suggest that Chlorine may cause cancer.

Okay I went a little overboard with the image. But think about it for a minute: those people are from the German army. They were the first people to use chlorine gas cylinders against the French back in April 1915.

Yes it is a little bit extreme but don’t you think that if the Germans are wearing masks from the Chlorine Gases it is a sign that chlorine may be a bad thing.

Chlorine is widely use as bleaching and disinfects. Now if that is the case why am I drinking it. It may be in low dosages, still couldn’t it be dangerous in long term use such as drinking water? I am just throwing the question out there.

Back in 1992 there was an article written in the Scientist News describing the connection between Chlorine and Cancer. What they have learned in the studies is that “people who drank chlorinated water ran a 21 percent greater risk of bladder cancer and a 38 percent greater risk of rectal cancer than people who drink water with little or no chlorine.”

Of course there are no real proof that chlorinated water caused the cancer. But there sure does seem like there is something that is causing the cancer in patient that drank the chlorinated water.

LOOK!

You make your own opinion on the subject. All I can say is that if Chlorinated water or something related to the chlorinated water is causing cancer then I am going to find a way to filter out the chlorine. Wouldn’t you?

The funny thing is that you may read this and disregard it because you haven’t gotten sick yet. But if your cars warning light comes on that you need an oil change you might be fast to react. We humans disregard the important things in life, like our health, until the warning light comes on and then it may be to late to do anything about it.

You can reduce your risk of cancer by filtering out the chlorine in your water. There are many different water filtering systems you just need to find one that fits you.
